Bret Michaels Rocks Annapolis All Night Long

Article & Images by Renita Clarke

If anyone knows me, they know how much I adore Poison. When I got the ok to cover the Bret Michaels Band show, I was more than stoked.

This was by far one of the best nights I’ve had as a photog. From singing along with fans, Bret pulling me on stage to shoot the crowd and him and ending the night with a personal moment with Bret, a fan & myself,  discussing the tragedy in Orlando. I would have to say the night was truly epic.

Michaels kicked off his sold out show at Rams Head On Stage in Annapolis, with a classic Poison track “Talk Dirty To Me” and continue to keep the hits coming from “Unskinny Bop”  & “Look What The Cat Dragged In”.  Michaels then left the stage for a dope drum solo by Mike Bailey and then returned with some great covers from Sublime and KISS.

Bret and the BMB put on one hell of a show and we can’t wait for round 2 during the Thanksgiving break.

Missed the show…shame on you…but you can check out a little of the greatness below:

Sixx:AM Rocked Baltimore

Written & Images by Renita Clarke

Hard rock took over the streets of Baltimore last night as Sixx:AM hit the stage at Rams Head Live. Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba, James Michael and the rest of the band killed their set. High energy, awesome light show and strong track after next, made for a rockin’ joyride. Sixx:AM is currently promoting their new album “Prayers for the Damned Vol 1”.

A congratulations is in order for the band, since this marks their 5 studio album and it shot to number 2 on the Billboard Rock charts. This is also just the first half of a double album, with the second half expected later this year.

With Michael’s wide vocal range and Sixx & Ashba being 2 of the best guitarist in the business, this is a tour you don’t want to past up. The songs gives you a good hard rock, powerful and deep vibe. We’re sure there going to be many hits from this album and volume 2.

Kiefer Sutherland ‘Not Enough Whiskey’ Tour Stops in Annapolis

Written & Images by Renita Clarke

Kiefer Sutherland Band graced the stage of Rams Head OnStage in Annapolis last night, to a sold out crowd. Kiefer Sutherland Band is currently on their ‘Not Enough Whiskey’ Tour.

Sutherland states that he would like to stay in the “small bar scene”.  Sutherland loves the small crowd intimacy he gets to have with his fans. So folks this means, you will not want to wait to get your tickets to see the Kiefer Sutherland Band because I’m sure this will not be their last sold out show.

Kiefer Sutherland Band delivers a 90 minute set of awesome outlaw country rock. Sutherland even shares a toast of a shot of whiskey with the crowd before going into their single “Not Enough Whiskey”.

Even though the music was new to the crowd, since the album isn’t set to be released by June, they definitely seemed like they were having a great time.

Musiq Soulchild 4 Night Epic Event at Rams Head On Stage

Written & Images by Renita Clarke

You know you are adored by your fans when you have not one, not two, not three, but FOUR jam packed sold out shows.

Contemporary R&B Sensation Musiq Soulchild had Rams Head Onstage packed for his debut at the venue. Original scheduled for one night with two shows. Rams Head Onstage had to add another night with two additional shows, due to popular demand.

Musiq’s soulful style voice had the audience fully engaged with every word and note he sang. Musiq and his seven piece band had the venue grooving to hit after hit after hit. He also debut his new song “Do I”, which was a crowd hit. Musiq Soulchild came prepared and had everyone on cloud nine and I wouldn’t have expected anything less.

Ann’s “The Ann Wilson Thing” EP is currently out. It has four awesome tracks with feature tour song “Fool No More”, which is co-written by Ann herself. Make sure to catch Ann on tour and make sure you buy her current EP.

The Sounds of Brasil took over Annapolis via Sergio Mendes

Written & Images by Renita Clarke

Last night (February 1st), before a sellout crowd Rams Head On Stage welcomed artist and icon Sergio Mendes and company. Sergio dazzled the audience with songs from his many eras of recording fame. As is customary at Sergio’s shows, there’s usually a section featuring the percussionist in the group. And it was such a great highlight in the show. Artist H20 also made a special appearance through out the set. All in all if you want to hear a fabulous evening of Brazilian music, this is the show to see!

Shalamar featuring Jody Watley at Rams Head

Written & Images by Renita Clarke

Jody Watley has formed a updated version of the classic R&B/dance group Shalamar, featuring new members Nate Allen Smith and Rosero McCoy. The new version of the group has already recorded tracks and have begun a promotional tour. Last night they gave longtime fans the chance to hear both her solo hits and reloads of hits from the original Shalamar days. It was great to see Jody dancing with the fellas and showcasing that classic voice of hers.

Avery Sunshine takes over Annapolis

Written & Images by Renita Clarke

I’ve never had the pleasure to see Avery Sunshine live before tonight. She sat at her keyboard with only 2 guitarist and blew me away. Rams Head OnStage was the backdrop for Avery last night. Her vocal range is banana’s. No over-singing! Just pure powerhouse talent. It was so good to see a show with not a lot of stuff on stage. I really like just being able to focus on Avery & her keyboard. With a great bubbly personalities, that drew the sold-out crowd in, this show was definitely enjoyed by all.

Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters stop by Rams Head Onstage

Written & Images by Renita Clarke

Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters geared up for a month long trek across the United States and landed last night in Annapolis,MD. The rock band is touring in support of its latest album, “Somewhere Down the Road.” The album has two discs; one is rock and the other has a more acoustic feel to it.

Thornton and the band, which includes Teddy Andreadis, J.D. Andrew and Brad Davis (which is currently not touring), worked on recording the album for a few months, though the songs took some time to write. Thornton has become known for his film roles over the years. But it’s always been music where his heart lies.

Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmaster played hit after hit in their 100 minute long set. Billy Bob Thronton also felt bad for guest sitting in the back and decide to come off stage to be closer to them, while telling a story from when he first met Andy Griffith (one of his idols) and Jack Lemmon. All in all it was a great vocal performance by Thornton and an awesome performance by the band.

Check out some images from the show and the from an exclusive signing after with Billy, Teddy & J.D:
