Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters stop by Rams Head Onstage

Written & Images by Renita Clarke

Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters geared up for a month long trek across the United States and landed last night in Annapolis,MD. The rock band is touring in support of its latest album, “Somewhere Down the Road.” The album has two discs; one is rock and the other has a more acoustic feel to it.

Thornton and the band, which includes Teddy Andreadis, J.D. Andrew and Brad Davis (which is currently not touring), worked on recording the album for a few months, though the songs took some time to write. Thornton has become known for his film roles over the years. But it’s always been music where his heart lies.

Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmaster played hit after hit in their 100 minute long set. Billy Bob Thronton also felt bad for guest sitting in the back and decide to come off stage to be closer to them, while telling a story from when he first met Andy Griffith (one of his idols) and Jack Lemmon. All in all it was a great vocal performance by Thornton and an awesome performance by the band.
